Becky Maass
FFA Advisor
With 22 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Maass is a cornerstone of Elgin’s Ag Science team. She holds both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Tarleton State University and teaches Floral Design, Greenhouse Operations, Horticulture, and Advanced Plant & Soil Science. One of her most unforgettable FFA moments? Winning the State Horse Judging contest — a moment filled with happy tears and the thrill of heading to Nationals! When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find her running barrels, rodeoing, and growing her ever-expanding plant collection.
Tara Barton
FFA Advisor
With 15 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Barton brings passion and expertise to Elgin’s Agriculture Science program. A proud Texas A&M University graduate (Bachelor’s and Master’s—Whoop!), she teaches Principles of AFNR, Floral Design, and Advanced Floral Design. Some of her favorite moments as an FFA advisor include watching her Vet Science teams qualify for the State contest—twice! Outside the classroom, Mrs. Barton loves traveling, reading, catching movies, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs.

Dawn Stratton
FFA Advisor
With 26 years of teaching under her belt, Ms. Stratton brings both skill and heart to the Elgin Ag team. A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, she currently teaches Livestock Production, Small Animal/Equine Science, Advanced Animal Science, and Vet Med. One of her most memorable FFA moments was watching her three-member Nursery/Landscape team place 9th in the nation at the National FFA Convention—competing against teams that had the advantage of a full four-member roster! Outside of school, Ms. Stratton enjoys all kinds of crafting, with counted cross-stitch and crocheting topping the list, as well as relaxing with a good puzzle.
Madeleine Musick
FFA Advisor
Entering her fifth year in the classroom, Ms. Musick brings a blend of passion and practical experience to Elgin’s Ag program. A proud graduate of Oklahoma State University, she teaches Food Technology, Food Processing, and the Practicum of AFNR. One of her top FFA memories is watching a student place at the Area SDE contest, a moment that truly showcased her students’ hard work. Outside the classroom, Ms. Musick previously owned a food product business, Farmstead Annalise, where her products were sold in Whole Foods. She loves traveling the world—Italy and Ireland are already on her list of adventures!
